Job Title: Network and Fiber Optic Technician
Location: Arusha Tanzania
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Network and Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. The
ideal candidate should have a strong background in fiber optic technologies and networking, with
hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, Install, splice, and maintain fiber optic cables and networks.
- Configure and manage network equipment including Cisco, Juniper, and Mikrotik devices.
- Monitor network performance using tools like Nagios and SolarWinds.
- Troubleshoot network issues and perform regular maintenance.
- Document network configurations and maintain accurate records.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a
related field. - Proficiency in fiber optic technologies (e.g., OTDR, fusion splicing).
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Mikrotik) and software tools.
Preferred Certifications(Added Advantage):
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT).
- CompTIA Network+.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
